Did Rep. Jim Clyburn collude with Republicans to gerrymander SC congressional map?

The NAACP has sued calling the current SC district map a racial gerrymander. This story uncovers communication between Democratic leader Jim Clyburn's office and Republican legislative staff who were working on the map. NAACP wanted fewer black voters in Clyburn's district to create a competitive district elsewhere with the possibility of  electing two black representatives in a state where the black population exceeds 25%. Clyburn presented Republicans with a map that would increase the black percentage in his district. He denies the collusion charge.
