Congressional Leaders Are Raising More Dark Money Than Ever Through Their Super PACs

https://readsludge.com/2020/08/21/congressional-leaders-are-raising-more-dark-money-than-ever-through-their-super-pacs/

Through the first half of 2020, the two super PACs affiliated with Democratic congressional leaders have already raised more dark money than in 2018 and previous cycles.  On the Republican side, the House arm, through June, has nearly matched the amount of dark money it received in the 2018 election, putting it on pace to far exceed last cycle’s totals. While the Senate GOP’s dark-money intake lags behind last cycle’s, its super PAC is sitting on the most cash of the four groups, with $97 million in the bank, including a fresh $25 million donation from Sheldon and Miriam Adelson in June.

Millions at risk of eviction; corporate landlords defy government eviction bans; cost of protecting families is small potatoes

https://popular.info/p/corporate-landlords-defy-federal

“…. there are 17.3 million households currently unable to pay rent and at risk of eviction. This represents more than 42% of all renter households. There is the potential for 11.7 million eviction filings over the next four months.

“At present, the total rent shortfall is $21.5 billion. This seems like a lot of money but, it is a small fraction of the total amount spend on COVID-19 relief, $3.48 trillion.”

We'll have to look closely at details, but this looks like a really big deal.

Trump admin blocking evictions for ppl earning under $99K/year -- covering most of 40 million renters -- as fears of national eviction crisis grew.
