Overview of racial and ethnic equity in congressional redistricting process

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-this-redistricting-cycle-failed-to-increase-representation-for-people-of-color-and-could-even-set-it-back/

Good overview. Latinos accounted for 51% of population growth nationwide (even though they were no doubt undercounted by the census). In some states, there are more seats with Latino majorities or pluralities, but, overall, people of color may have lost representation.

Montgomery Republican alleges voter roll irregularities

https://www.marylandmatters.org/2022/03/10/letter-does-mocos-gop-really-want-to-review-election-issues-in-a-bipartisan-manner/

In Maryland, the Governor’s party controls the State Board of Elections and all local boards. A Republican operative sent a list of allegations of irregularities only to the Republican members of the Montgomery BoE. A Democratic member pokes holes in some of the allegations and calls for bipartisan, good faith consideration of any real problems.

Supreme Court lets state court maps go through in PA and NC

https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-pennsylvania-north-carolina-elections-redistricting-c5b603afa8e492a7dd8925aafe8c527a?user_email=96eb705c0db50c27ac3d234439d4e34535193f1d552af2727344ed6896c6e3aa&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=March08_MorningWire&utm_term=Morning%20Wire%20Subscribers

In at least a temporary victory for Democrats, the U.S. Supreme Court let stand NC and PA state high court rulings that replace partisan maps drawn by Republican-dominated legislatures for congressional seats. The Court said it is too close to the elections to disturb the present maps. This does not shut the door on the Republican argument that state courts cannot rule on congressional district maps.
